How long have you been a teacher?

I have been in education for 22 years. I am a three-time graduate from St. John Fisher College. I hold degrees in General Education, Special Education and District Leadership. My educational career has allowed me to educate students from all over the world.

What is your philosophy as a teacher?

I believe that as an educator it is my responsibility to be a catalyst of change for students to be better today then they were yesterday and to be a source of inspiration and encouragement. I hope to instill in students a sense of worthiness and a sense of pride that will continue to drive their own reflection of life and become more than they thought they should be. I have made it my mission to help youth receive the fundamental life-skills and personal-development philosophies necessary for success in school and in life.

What motivates you to be at Vertus? (what is your “why?")

As soon as I joined the Vertus Family it became clear to me that building strong relationships was the most important aspect of working here. The connections that I have built with the school community, families and students is the foundation for student success. The opportunities that we provide our young men are what inspires me to continue to do my best for our young men.

Who are you outside of Vertus?

I enjoy spending time with my family, and playing outside with our dog. I love road trips and seeing the country side.

What is your motivational message for students, current or future?

Success is more than finding the right job someday or making a lot of money. It's about doing the right thing at the right time. It will take faith and courage. However, every day, every hour, every moment of your life, you face a choice. Simple actions, repeated over time, will determine the life you lead.
